A New Trading Power


As a result of the Meiji Restoration Japan's economy and trading power both increased drastically.

-After seeing other industrialized countries Japan became eager to modernize. 
-As new factories began to spring up all over Japan, machined goods started to replace handmade artifacts and Japan started to replace its old culture with new Western ideas. 
-People were told that the adoption of foreign and business methods were the new way of making Japan strong, so Westerners could no longer beat the children of Japan in trade.
